The Board of Energy Regulatory Office of Kosovo in the session held on 10 December 2020 approved in principle KOSTT request to assign and/or transfer certain rights and obligations to ALPEX for organization of the day-ahead and intraday market for the  territory of the Republic of Kosovo.

ERO, on 16 November 2020, received a request from KOSTT for approval in principle by the Board of ERO, in relation to the right of KOSTT to assign and/or transfer certain rights and obligations to ALPEX for organization of the day-ahead and intraday market for the territory of the Republic of Kosovo.

The request provided clarifications regarding the legal basis which makes KOSTT as a Market Operator responsible for organization of the day-ahead and intraday market for the entire territory of Kosovo, also regarding the right of the Market Operator to assign the Albanian Power Exchange as an Organized Electricity Market for day-ahead or intraday trading purposes, in line with Market Rules. In addition, the request provided clarifications regarding the legal basis on the right of ERO to approve the transfer of the right to assign and/or transfer any right or obligation to a third party.

KOSTT has been elected a shareholder of the Albanian Power Exchange (ALPEX) established in Albania, as an entity responsible for market management and administration, organized through a market platform, which will operate in the field of exchange of electricity between the markets of Albania and Kosovo.
