ALPEX at EMIF II: Advancing Regional Electricity Market Integration

ALPEX was honored to participate as a panelist at the Electricity Market Integration Forum (EMIF II), held at the European Parliament.

The discussion focused on the challenges and opportunities related to the integration of the electricity markets of the Energy Community Contracting Parties into the European internal electricity market.

During the panel, ALPEX was represented by its CEO, Sokol Dishnica, who shared the company’s perspective on:

  • Albania and Kosovo progress toward market coupling with the European market;
  • The impact of the CBAM mechanism on the Albanian electricity market;
  • Regional integration approaches, including the border-by-border model and Local Implementation Projects (LIPs);
  • The importance of regulatory harmonization and continued regional cooperation The discussions highlighted the strong regional commitment  to accelerating electricity market integration and strengthening cooperation among market operators, TSOs, European institutions, and regional stakeholders;
